“Mail M*th@ F^ck@”! (rated: PG 13)
I’m crawling into bed at about 2:30am after a long night for forum installing forums and other things Internet marketing related and as my head hits the pillow I hear a strange sound coming from the other side of the room.
Not quite sure what it is I close my eyes and proceed to count the clicks… I mean sheep.
Then it comes again a few minutes later, a scruffy, angry male voice says very quickly: “Mail M*th@ F^ck@”!
I realize its the email notification coming from my husband phone while he sleeps right through it. Not sure if I should be offended or amused I decide to just sleep. I’ll talk with him about it tomorrow, I tell myself and get back to counting as I drift.
Next evening I decide I’d bring up the conversation by telling him the details I mentioned above. He starts to laugh and says that’s his email ring tone. I asked him if he silences the phone when he’s at work and he says, “No”.
“No? So you mean to tell me your phone alarms, “mail m*th@ f^ck@” at work!?”, I asked.
He replies that he turns the volume down… And I’m like, so it whispers “mail m*th@ f^ck@” to you? How hilarious! Personally I couldn’t understand why he’d want his phone to curse at him for any reason at all but especially not the email. Why? Because for me email, at least the one I have forwarded to my BlackBerry equal leads, customer sale notifications or important business updates.
He says he’d consider changing it but he doesn’t by the time I tell my sister Chavi of the episode a day or so later. She actually thought it was funny and had him bluetooth the ringtone to her and activates it as her text message ring tone.
Now, I’m surrounded by (mail) M@th@ F^ck@s!
Shortly after that he informs me of an episode where a customers actually hears the vulgar ‘whisper’ as it echoed in an empty room. This is how the story unfolds…
My husband Adam, if you didn’t know, works in property management so he frequently shows empty apartment homes. On this faithful day, he’s showing a 3 bedroom to two young ladies.
While one is on the balcony the another asks him questions in the living room. At a break in the conversation the mean whisper comes: “mail m*th@ f^ck@”…
Actually he says the sound echoed and bounced in between them so he couldn’t even play it off.
Thinking she may have been offended, he avoided eye contact but then she says, “That’s actually pretty funny!” I wondered if she asked for it to be bluetoothed to her too? I’ll have to ask.
Before you ask, he still hasn’t changed it because of all the positive feed back hes gotten about it and below is the audio if you want to listen and/or download for your own personal use.
Oh, and if it sounds familiar that’s because its a sound bite from the movie “Eurotrip” as a spoof on AOL’s “You’ve Got Mail!”.
Enjoy,
Malika
