4 Way to Get and Stay Motivated To Finish 2009 with More BANG and More Bucks
It happens to the best of us. We have those days, those weeks those months were it seems like little money and energy draining events just come one right after the other.
An over looked bill, unpaid taxes, over draft fees, insurance rate hikes, flat tires, busted furnace, sick child or parent… an engine fire!
You feel like screaming, “Okay, up there… what else you got?”. Then you say a silent prayer and hope what ever it is, it’s good news.
It can be hard keeping your focus on pursuing what eases most of those problems above: More steady money from your home based business.
So how do you get and stay internally motivated press forward building your business amongst life many distractions? below are a few steps I follow personally and coach other to professionally.
1. Know where you stand financially and check often. Nothing says, “get up and do something productive in your business today” like looking at your bank account balance. If it doesn’t look how you want it to look know that you have to power and the means to change it RIGHT NOW.
Get painfully clear on how far you are from where you need to be financially to provide for yourself and those who depend on your income. Whenever you feel yourself coming up with an excuse a project didn’t get done or you didn’t make any sales calls today, take a gander at your savings account or your brokerage accounts for a quick shot in the arm.
2. You’re and eagle but not an island. Entrepreneurs only make up 10% of the worlds population. I believe we are one of the most misunderstood species of people. Most of our friends and family think we’re crazy… they know we’re “different”. Like minded people who get as excited as you do talking about business, strategy and marketing are few ad far between.
However, thanks to the Internet you can reach out and mastermind with others to learn from, share resources and talk shop from around the corner to around the globe. Hearing a collegues success story is always inspiring and helping someone by sharing yours is a gift onto itself.
3. Hire a Professional. If you want to get real about where you are and enjoy the empowerment and clarity that only strict accountability can give, you need to hire a business success mentor or marketing coach. As an entrepreneur you are resourceful yes, but, no one who has done anything great has done it without professional help.
If you think you don’t need one it’s because what you are working to accomplish with your life isn’t really a big deal. There’s a reason why highly paid athletes, recording artists and business professionals have coaches to help them stay focused and motivated.
My mentors all have mentors of their own and constantly credit their success to the guidance and motivation the gained from their
There are good people willing to help you take that next step up with confidence. Oh, and if you think hiring a professional if expensive… wait ’til you see how much an armature will cost you.
4. Celebrate Successes Big and Small. Did you finally buy that domain name, followed up with that last client, hit business mild stone like a check with a comma from your Google adsense program!? WoOt!! Take time to reward yourself for yourself and brag a little.
Share your excitement about nailing that presentation, writing your first special report or getting booked on the local morning show with those who will celebrate with you. They will help remind you, “Hey, you can do it” and I believe in YOU” even when you feel you can’t.
A little encouragement goes a long way towards you taking bolder steps and reaping larger rewards. Have you celebrated lately??
